‘Burgers, beers and banter in the centre of Belfast’.
You will find Pablos in the centre of Belfast on Church Lane, beside (and indeed part of) the fabulous
Muriel’s. Small, with 2 indoor seats and a few outdoor tables to boot, you can also order into Muriel’s or even their sister bar, The Spaniard.
You’ll be greeted with a small but perfectly formed menu with a choice of 5 burgers (priced £5-£6.50), all (bar the veggie option) made with Hannan’s Salt-Aged Glenarm Shorthorn beef patties which, if you’ve read my previous posts for The Bull and Ram in Ballynahinch, you’ll know I’m a fan of!
It’s all about the quality and the burgers are juicy thick patties of loveliness, made on a hotplate as you watch (and drool). There are plenty of sides too, although I always find myself going for the ‘Dirty South Frites’ served with American Cheese and Bacon Bits. (menu here)
My burger of choice? The El Patron – a 6oz Pattie with Crispy Bacon Rashers, Cheese and Pablo’s Classic Dressing.
Pablos is really an absolute gem of an eaterie in Belfast. Good quality food at a good price in a good location with friendly staff. Try it for yourself but you’ll definitely be thanking me!
